Troubleshooting & Help

Common issues and their solutions. If your question isn't answered here, contact us directly — our team responds within 24 hours on business days.

Door sag is almost always caused by loose hinge screws or a hinge pin that has shifted. First, check the top hinge and tighten all visible screws.

If the screws are tight but the door still droops, adjust the hinge pin — most SMG hinges allow ±3mm vertical and horizontal adjustment. Refer to the installation manual for the specific adjustment points on your hinge model.

No, a properly installed panel should feel rigid. Loose panels usually indicate that the wall bracket or floor bracket has worked loose.

Check the anchor points at the top and bottom of the panel. If the anchors have pulled out of the wall, do not re-use the same holes — relocate the bracket to a fresh anchor point at least 50mm away from the old one, and use appropriate masonry anchors for your wall type.

Surface rust spots on 304 stainless steel are usually caused by environmental contamination (iron particles from construction dust, cleaning chemicals, or coastal salt air), not by a defect in the steel itself.

Clean the affected area with a mild abrasive pad and a non-chloride stainless steel cleaner, then rinse and dry. For coastal or industrial environments, we recommend specifying 316-grade stainless steel for longer corrosion resistance.

MDF is moisture-resistant but not waterproof. Swelling at the bottom edge almost always means water has been standing on the floor and wicking up into the panel core.

For washrooms with frequent floor washing or high humidity, we strongly recommend switching to HPL compact laminate or phenolic panels, which are fully waterproof. If you must keep MDF, ensure the bottom edge is sealed and the floor drains properly.

First check if the door has shifted out of alignment (see the door sag question above). If alignment is correct, inspect the latch and strike plate for debris or paint buildup.

Apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant to the latch mechanism — never use oil-based lubricants, as they attract dust and can stain the panel surface. If the latch still sticks, the spring may have worn out and the latch should be replaced.
